Radio Accountant is here. We come to you from PACT (the professional Accountants center for training) with Episode # 6.
Hi. This is Roy.
And this is Kash. Happy Teachers’ day to all our teachers and all teachers out there.
As the great saying goes, “teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions.” So, our heartfelt respect goes to all teachers.
K: Speaking of teachers and education, in today’s episode, we’re going to tell you about Oxford Brooks University. Listen up if you need to know about application requirements of this university.
So stay tuned with us. We have a lot to share with you.
K: Our students here at PACT have a lot of questions about Oxford Brooks University and its application process and requirements. That’s why we decided to help you in this episode.
That’s right. Let’s start off by some frequently asked questions:
First and foremost, students keep asking where this university is and how valid is its degree.
Oxford Brookes University has over 150 years of history. They started out as a small School of Art in borrowed teaching rooms and have grown into one of the UK's top modern universities with a local, national and international reputation for teaching and research excellence. It has four campuses in all around UK. It is among the top 400 universities in the world, ranked 361 in the QS World University Rankings 2018.
Next, many wonder why Brooks is recommended for ACCA students.
Oxford Brookes Business School has a unique and innovative collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) - the global body for professional accountants. Students of ACCA are now automatically registered for the Oxford Brookes University degree when they enroll with ACCA.
In fact, as soon as ACCA students have completed the Fundamental Skills papers F1 to F9 of the ACCA's professional examinations, and the Professional Ethics module, they may submit a "Research and Analysis Project" plus the recognised English language qualification certificate to Oxford Brookes.
Time to go through the application process:
Students are required to successfully complete all nine Fundamentals level papers at least two months before the start of the submission period. Don’t forget that ACCA students should apply before passing F7, F8 or F9.
Complete the ACCA Ethics and Professional Skills module. It is compulsory requirement which cost you £60.
Complete and pass the Oxford Brookes University Research and Analysis Project with a mentor.
We have three mentors in PACT. Dr. Ebrahim Noruzbeigi, Dr. Anahita Boostani and Mr. Mahmoud Jalalat.
Here’s Mr.Jalalat answers to the following questions.
1.What does a mentor do?
2.How can a mentor help students?
Roy, how about English language qualification? Because, it’s a foreign university for our students after all.
Good question, they need IELTS (academic) with 6.0 overall, and 6.0 in reading and writing and 5.5 in listening and speaking. An IELTS certificate is only valid for 2 years.
Having said all that, what does Brooks have to offer to ACCA students and members?
Oxford Brooks ACCA supported Undergraduate programs.
- BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting for those who have passed papers F1-F9
- BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance for F1-F4 qualified students
- Oxford Brookes Global MBA for members
- MSc Accounting for F1-F8 students
Great Roy, like always it’s time for our vocabulary review
